this time last year I found the bee orchids in the dunes. I was so excited, scabbling around late in the evening and having to walk home along the estuary in the dark, without a torch - so it must have been late! I had wanted to go this morning to look but was unable too because of being unwell. Later I met someone and mentioned that I had wanted to go and see if they were there. She said she had seen them the day before, but her friend didn't think that was what they were. I am glad to know that they are there. Hopefully they survived the schoo;'s finished big party last night. I couldn't go today..but maybe next week. So here are last years bee orchids. They take ages to spot, but once one is seen suddenly there are many all around.
