ordinary and not

I have seen so few swifts - hope to see more in the city...but a lack. Then I cross the Taf and see perhaps a hundred or more over the river, both ways, high, low...a couple come low over my head - I hear them but the traffic drowns most of their sound. Also ducks, gulls and a cormorant.

This morning a breakfast that I really enjoyed - oat millet flakes, cashews, sunflower seeds and blueberries with soya & oatly milk cocktail. Not sure why it was so good...but it was. Concentrate on small things. And just watching the world.

Tea Time

oh wonderful wonderful: a place to drink tea - but it's not near home it's in Caerdydd/Cardiff.
Waterloo Gardens Tea House.
Loose teas of great variety, soya milk available and a CHOICE of gluten free cakes. Of course nice salad too. And yes you can buy the teas. They come in a pot with a strainer so that you can lift out when brewed enough...and they let you know how long each variety of tea should infuse. So I had a Russian Caravan with my salad and a Darjeeling 1st flush superior with my gluten free raspberry and white chocolate cake....

other tea entries
there should be more but I'm a bit lazy... worth looking at food too, if you are that way inclined.

And a set of images cafe life plus a curious mix Lily & Tea

Food

of course I have recorded food else where on this blog, quite a popular topic. This is a collection of images, including 3 visits to The Chocolate Society on Elizabeth Street (where they do the most wonderful jasmine tea chocolates); it is very close to Victoria coach station, so one time a breakfast meringue was consumed on arrival in the city! other images are nearer to home or at a friends house - I suspect that this slide show will be added to....

blue shirt carrier

I feed bright green bolted lettuces to the chicken, Old Black Hen is given a private stash in the house, but she then goes out. I collect the eggs but having nothing to carry them in I take off my shirt - it's HOT today, adding two apples on my way down the garden.

afternoon tea at No. 14

I find afternoon tea, in a beautiful room in Abergwaun/Fishguard. Loose tea made in a tea pot (unfortunately no Russia Caravan). How many excuses can I find to visit? But I will have to be careful to slip quickly past the chocolate shop at the front..boxes of Roccoco chocolates..

Up date: yes they do have Russian Caravan

bank holiday weekend

Another bank holiday weekend is upon us. so friends arrive from the city and we go to the beach. after having been to the swings and climbing frames. of course it is not really beach weather. I have my red tarten blanket with waterproof backing and we wear fleeces. many big cars and big dogs on the beach and big noisy marine machines on the sea. why do people think it is a good idea to have cars on the beach...and in a natonal park? we are not going to see dolphins again with all the jet skis and motor boats.

So sand- castles were made by adults and sometimes knocked down by a child. ice cream was eaten with chocolate brownies.
Bank holiday monday has proven to be very cold with a wet morning. Also very windy, perfect for a playing park for children up in the hills.
